Over the past two weeks thousands of passengers have been stranded at Airports because of a cloud of ash from a volcanic eruption in Iceland. Read the article below and answer the following questions.

How would you feel if you were stranded at a foreign airport? What would you do?

How would you feel if you were stuck in Christchurch and couldn't go on your overseas holiday? What would you do?

Discuss with your family and report the answers in this weeks Blog.

  2. If i was stuck at a foriegn airport and i had family with me i would feel fine but if i had no family with me I would be nervous and couldnt wait to go home. I wouldnt do anything just play by air. If I couldnt go on holiday from Christchurch i would go to the imformation desk and ask if flights will be re-planned and go home and wait.

  3. I wouldn't really mind if it was Germany (because I love it there...)But if I was held up and didn't have much money left I wouldn't be the happiest of all.
But if this was to happen, it would obviously staying longer which leads to accomadation which leads to money...
In other words I don't really know how exactly I would react, but I would be scared if I was on my own.

  6. If I was here I wouldn't mind though, because I live here so I wouldn't have to worry about paying for accomadation...

And I could always rebook for a new flight.

  7. I think if I was stranded at a foreign airport (with my family)I would feel really bored and annoyed because we would have nothing to do,I would also be feeling really nervous and worried about how long we would have to stay in the country. My family would probably find some accomadation or otherwise just find room in the airport.
If I couldn't go on holiday from Christchurch I would be really really annoyed. I would probably go back home and just wait, until the ash has cleared.

  8. if i was in a foreign country i would feel nervous and annoyed because if i didnt no anyone there i would feel nervous cause i would have no clue about anything and i may not no how to speak that language and annoyed cause i would of been excited about getting home seeing everyone.

if i was stuck in christchurh i would be really disappointed because that means i would miss out on something that i had been looking forward to for a long time. And i may of been flying over to see someone i hadnt seen in a long time. But afterwards i would probably book another flight.

  10. If I was stuck in a foreign airport, i would try not to panic, I would feel worried and stressed. I would rebook my tickets to a later date and then make sure that I had somewhere to stay. I would book accommodation.

If i was stuck in christchurch waiting to go over seas. I wouldn't be worried as much because I could just go back home, and stay there. I would feel annoyed and frustrated that I have to reebook everything.

  16. If I was stuck in a country that I'd never been in before I would probably be worried, homesick and excited about staying longer. I wouldn't really know what to do espeacialy (did I spell that right?) if I didn't have any family with me.

If I was stuck here I wouldn't really worry though because I live and could just go home and relax until we get a new flight to go to.

  19. If I was stranded at a foreign airport I would try to contact friends and family I would use my phone to contact them so they know where I am and that I won't be back for a while. I would then find some accomodation and enjoy staying in another country for some extra time. I I was stuck in Christchurch i would try and get a refund if they didnt give me a refund, go on fair go.

  25. If we didn't have much money we would take a train or ferry to a different
country were the airspace was unaffected for example if we were in Holland
then we would could go to Spain and then fly from there.

If we did have money we would find a place to stay and enjoy another week of
    our holiday.
