  1. I am not really bothered by the Rugby World Cup and i am not intending of watching or going to any of the games. A part of this is because only men are allowed to playand this puts me off it a bit and also no one else watches it in my family. I reckon that woman that are into rugby should be able to be part of the rugby teams in the world if they want to be.

  2. I dont really care about the rugby world cup but I will watch some of it when my dad. I am looking forward to watching the All blacks play the Spring Boks because the All blacks lost in the tri nations. I'll be supporting New Zealand not South Africa. I also agree with Wolfy, if woman want to play international rugby they should be able to. I also don't get the rules because I'm not into rugby so that does put me off watching it a little bit.

  4. I am looking forward to the Rugby World Cup. I will support the All Blacks. I will watch a few games especially the games against Australia and South Africa because they are the games that will be close. It should take peoples minds off all of the earthquakes. It is disappointing that no games will be held in Christchurch. I think that it was good that the All Blacks came to towns and cities throughout New Zealand. It is also good to see the other teams being welcomed into New Zealand.

  5. For me the Ruby World Cup is important, because I think its special that New Zealand even got chosen to host the Rugby World Cup, but I do think its pretty stink that Christchurch doesn’t get to be the hosting city. I know that we’ve used a lot of money for more accommodation and upgrades, but am looking forward to seeing how much profit we as a country make. I am very excited for the Rugby World Cup, and look forward to watching as many games as possible!!!!!!!

  6. i am looking forward to the rugby world cup but i dont suppport being held here because we could have spent the money on rebuilding christchurch and i am also looking forward to seeing the wallibies winning against the all blacks and then holding the world cup for the world to see.

  7. Well, I am personally not that excited about the Rugby World Cup but I do understand that some will certainly be looking forward to it. It is pretty awesome to host such a big event in New Zealand and when it is one of the best sports we participate in, it is special. It would be a disappointment if the Rugby World Cup didn’t live up to the hype seen on TV especially since the government has spent so much money on the event. The main reason I am not so excited is because Canterbury isn’t hosting any events and that is really sad considering that small places like Rangiora would miss out on the added tourists and maybe becoming HQ for a few teams for the duration of the World Cup. It doesn’t really seem like a big event is about to take place in Canterbury because special rugby teams hasn’t arrived and I know now no one is going to some games because of it being cancelled in Christchurch. That is a major down point for us Cantabrians not feeling like the excitement of a massive event about to occur. I’m sure people in Auckland and other venue cities would be ecstatic to have so many tourists shopping in their malls and eating at restaurants and being hosts of the Rugby World Cup. I am most looking forward to see the reaction of tourists on how New Zealand is like as a country and being excited about watching their home team play in the Rugby World Cup. Also the future is something I am looking forward to as tourists will return and venture deeper into New Zealand and hopefully come to Canterbury. Also the recent stadium upgrades will be fantastic for the future meaning more international games for the country and world class venues for the All Blacks to play and practise in. The new buildings and waterfront upgrade will also benefit New Zealand in the future, meaning more international expo’s and events in the new Cloud and now Auckland has a more modern and world class waterfront attracting more tourists. It is exciting of what the future will bring only for the Rugby World Cup, not to mention the added money boost for the rebuild of Christchurch; and that is what I am most looking forward to. I will support and follow the All Blacks (not so much in the pool matches) in the quarter finals, semi finals and of course the final if they make it so far! It is an honour for New Zealand to host such a big event, and we should all take it in our stride with the added attention from around the globe!

    Nick! :P :D

  8. in m opinion i am not interested about the world cup. I am just simply not into rugby.
I mean my family will be watching as many games as they can but you will be lucky if i watch 2.
The only game i am interested in watching is the game that scotland plays, and i might just mighht watch one of the all blacks.
I am not really looking forward to anything about the world cup. . . there is nothing to be excited or look forward to.
Yeah i guess its cool that new zealand get to host the world cup, but new zealand is quite a small country and places are going to get busy which makes it really hard to get around and all that sort of stuff.
I think it would be really generous if they gave a small portion of the money that is made to the canterbury earthquake- it would just be a nice thing if they did.
it would be cool to see the all blacks win the world cup but i think they might get beaten by the wallabies.
if the all blacks get through to the final i would defiantly watch it, it would be about the only game i would be really excited about.

I do not know the rules very well, So I will find it hard to follow the games fully. I am most looking forward to the All Blacks v.s the Wallabies, since they won the tri-nations. I will be supporting the All Blacks until the end!

  13. I am extremely excited about the RUGBY WORLD CUP. I am going to watch as many of the 48 games as I can. I think New Zealand is extremely lucky and privileged to host the RUGBY WORLD CUP, out of all the other countries they chose New Zealand. I am going to follow all the teams not just the ALL BLACKS. I am mostly looking forward to the opening ceremony and seeing the ALL BLACKS win the final.
    Go the AB'S?

I love rugby and the opportunity to have the Rugby World Cup here in New Zealand during my life time is great. I think it is a fantastic occasion that will bring New Zealand back into the world. It will also help the members of Canterbury to find something that will please them after these troubled times. Although none of the games are at AMI Stadium, the Cantabrians will still enjoy the experience and they will still be cheering for their favourite team (which will hopefully be the All Blacks).
The Rugby World Cup comes every four years, New Zealand being a land of rugby will cherish this year in particular because it will be the year that is in NZ and it will be the year that the All Blacks win the World Cup since 1987 :D
I will be following the All Blacks because I support them; I will also be following France, England, Australia and South Africa because I reckon that they are the All Blacks main competition, even though the AB’s can easily beat them.
I will be forever cheering for the men in black and white (not the English who are wearing the wrong uniform) and when they win the World Cup it will make New Zealand the happiest country alive!

Saskia (A proud supporter of the All Blacks) :D
